North American Midway Rides
Monday July 22, 2019 | Red Deer, AB – Blue, sunny skies set the scene for an amazing final day of Central Alberta’s Largest Summer Celebration. Over 29,453 guests were welcomed to Servus Credit Union Family Day at Westerner Days Fair & Exposition for a record-breaking Sunday! The day started off with Morning of Faith, where over 2,300 people joined together for a non-denominational worship service in the Westerner Park Centrium. The Red Deer Food Bank collected plenty of non-perishable food items donated by Morning of Faith attendees in lieu of their gate admission.
This year’s theme for Westerner Days was ‘Well Worth The Ride’; a theme that celebrates the value that the Fair provides to the Central Alberta community. Westerner Days Fair & Exposition is proud to support the community in a number of different ways this year. The new Charity Dunk Tank, sponsored by Get In The Loop, raised over $4,225 for local charities over the five-day celebration. Red Deer Kinette Club & the Knights of Columbus were also on site hosting 50/50 draws raising funds for their local initiatives. The Mustard Seed was on site providing courtesy rides to guests all week long, with approximately 4,000 guests transported on Saturday alone!
With the support of Stantec and ENMAX, Westerner Days was happy to provide 300 admission passes to deserving local families through the We All Play program, ensuring their access to a full Fair experience. We All Play recipients were anonymously selected by Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre and Central Alberta Family Services. On Thursday, July 18, Westerner Days children’s entertainers and representatives headed over to the Ronald McDonald House for Share The Fair. Doo Doo the Clown, Team T&J and Bandaloni were able to put smiles on faces and bring the Fair experience to families who otherwise could not attend.
