Hey there! Exciting news—our Best Dressed Business contest is back for Westerner Days! It’s your chance to showcase your creativity and love for Westerner Days while making unforgettable memories.

Decorate your business to support Westerner Days 2024 with a Western heritage theme and be part of crafting memories that will last a lifetime. Plus, participating businesses will receive special recognition and promotion. Let’s make this Westerner Days truly unforgettable together!

Contest Dates: The contest runs from July 10 to 16. We’d love for your business to be decorated throughout that week and the entirety of Westerner Days.

Here’s how it works:

Register: Simply fill out the online form or in person at Westerner Park’s Donald Administration Building to participate. Registration deadline is July 1st.
Gussy Up Your Business: Let the decorating commence with all things Westerner Days themed – think Cowboy Culture, Western Heritage, and Fair Festivities!
Capture the Spirit: Snap some photos of your masterpiece and show it off on socials! We promise to hype you up!
Judging: Our panel of judges will visit each participant and evaluate based on a set of criteria. See more details below
Winner: We will announce the winner on July 16th, right before Westerner Days begin so you can boast for the whole 5 days! 😉

Judging Details

Judging Criteria: Judges will evaluate decorations based on creativity, theme adherence, use of space, attention to detail, and overall impact. Each category will be rated on a three-star scale: 1 star = good, 2 stars = excellent, 3 stars = incredible.

Scoring System: The scoring system will be transparent, with judges assigning star ratings or points for each category based on the established criteria.

Judging Schedule: Judging will occur on July 13-15. Businesses will be contacted closer to that date by a representative of Westerner Park to schedule a time when the judges will arrive for evaluation.

Disqualification Criteria: Actions or behaviours that could result in disqualification include violation of contest rules, inappropriate behaviour, or failure to adhere to the theme.

Judging Categories

Your business will be judged on the following categories:

Theme Adherence: The theme of the contest is Western heritage, and decorations should align with this theme. Avoid any offensive or inappropriate content.

Registration: Businesses must register for the contest by July 1 . Registration can be done online through [registration link] or in-person at Westerner Park Donald Administration Building.

Decoration Period: Businesses should have their decorations in place from July 10, 2024 to July 21, 2024.

Community Engagement: Bonus points will be awarded for displays that actively engage the community or promote participation in Westerner Days events. This could include hosting community events, interactive experiences, special promotions, charitable initiatives, or themed menus/products.
